2013 MX Nationals Rd5 Conondale qualifying report

New Zealand’s Cody Cooper claimed his first GoPro Super Pole of the season at Conondale’s fifth round of the 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals this morning.
Cooper took the five bonus points for pole, taking advantage of an incident from regular qualifying pace-setter and Motul Pirelli Suzuki teammate Matt Moss.
Cooper was elevated to the top of the order during the single qualifying flyer, heading Kirk Gibbs (Motorex KTM), Billy Mackenzie (CDR Yamaha), Jake Moss (Campbell Mining Suzuki) and Matt Moss.
Moss’ 2m34.8 lap during regular qualifying has been by far the quickest lap of all during the practice and qualifying proceedings.
MX1 series leader Todd Waters was edged out of the Super Pole session late in qualifying.
In the MX2 ranks it was a Serco Yamaha whitewash in retro 30th anniversary colours, as Luke Styke topped rookie teammate Luke Clout. Carlton Dry Honda’s Josh Cachia climbed to third with a late flyer.
