GYTR Yamaha Racing Team riders Jay Wilson and Joel Dinsdale will join the MX2 ranks in a wildcard appearance for this weekend’s Conondale round five of the Monster Energy MX Nationals.
The team confirmed today via their Facebook page that the MXD class regulars have been offered wildcard spots in the event while the development series takes a break this weekend.
This opportunity to run with the MX2 riders will provide both Wilson and Dinsdale with valuable experience and knowledge as they prepare themselves to move into the class full-time in the near future.
Wilson will trade in his usual number 10 for the number 51 this weekend, while Dinsdale, coming off the back of a maiden MXD overall win at Broadford, will run the number 50 instead of his usual 49.
After three rounds of racing action, Dinsdale currently holds down fourth overall in the MXD championship with GYTR Yamaha teammate Wilson sitting in seventh.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Dinsdale, Wilson to be aboard one-off, retro-styled Yamaha’s at Conondale this weekend as Yamaha Australia celebrates their 30th anniversary.
