In a gripping battle of the champions on Friday the 2011 World Tour winner narrowly defeated defending champion Levi Sherwood of New Zealand by a score of 3-2 on the technical course.
Torres put in a masterful performance of freestyle motocross through three rounds, it was the first win for Torres in the world renowned series since Madrid in 2011.
Frenchman Tomas Pages, who had dominated qualifying, put in his a strong performance with his signature Volt, Special Flip and Flair moves included in his routine.
Pages had the crowd cheering as he nailed three of the most difficult tricks in the game, but unfortunately he crashed on his last jump resulting in a third place finish.
Pages went on the redeem himself with a win in the Swatch Best Move portion of the event, using his crowd-pleasing ‘Volt’ to impress the 13,000 spectators and take home the victory.
Australia’s Rob Adleberg finished just outside the top three with a strong fourth overall finish in Dubai. Fellow Aussie Josh Sheehan suffered a sub-par result with a ninth overall for the event.
Torres leads the overall standings on 180 points, ahead of Pages and Sherwood who sit on 165 and 145 points, respectively. Adelberg and Sheehan currently hold down fourth and fifth positions respectively.
The 2013 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour will now makes its way to Glen Helen Raceway in the US for round three of competition on 11 May.
