Ken de Dycker and Jordi Tixier have delivered KTM a clean-sweep of the MX1 and MX2 qualifying races at the Italian round of the FIM World Motocross Championships at Arco di Trento.

From eighth, MX1 contender de Dycker charged forward to win the heat with a three-second advantage over Clement Desalle who also made ground early.

Gautier Paulin, the practice pacesetter, finished third after a slow start saw him battling outside the top ten early.

Italian Antonio Cairoli was fourth across the line, with British rider Tommy Searle rounding out the MX1 top five on his Kawasaki.

In the MX2 class it was the KTM of Glenn Coldenhoff with the holeshot and early command of the race before Tixier began his move back to the top taking the lead in the closing stages.

Australia’s Dean Ferris, on return from injury, put in an impressive ride to round out the qualifying race in third and just 2.762s off the lead.

Third in practice, Monster Energy Yamaha’s Ferris was off to a flying start in second and maintained position before being rounded up by Tixier.

Red Bull KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings was involved in a dramatic first-corner crash and made solid ground to reclaim fourth place after fighting back through the field.

French rider Christophe Charlier rounded out the top five and the on-track battle pack, with sixth place and beyond more than 10 seconds out of contention.
