Queenslander Jackson Richardson is celebrating his first top 10 finish in the East Coast Regional 250SX category at Toronto in Canada last weekend.
Richardson finished a fine fourth in the heat race before racing to ninth in the 15-lap main event, marking a milestone performance in his career.
“It was real awesome – that was one of our biggest goals was to try top 10,” Richardson told Racer X Online. “Tonight we were lucky enough to pull it off. It was real exciting.
“Just the feeling of when I finished I was just like, wow, I’ve done it. Because not many Aussies have been able to pull it off, especially at my age coming over here.
“It was definitely a big personal achievement to me – I’m real happy with it.”
The result was his best since his 11th place finish at Dallas’ opening round in Texas. Richardson now sits 18th in the standings with three rounds remaining.
Richardson was originally slated to enter the West Coast series, however suffered a broken collarbone and underwent surgery, forcing his switch East later in the season.
