The Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship (EWC) made its way to San Juan in Argentina for round two of the series where riders endured two days of tough competition on the demanding terrain.

On day one of the event it was France’s Antoine Meo who claimed a hard fought win in the Enduro 1 class, ahead of Juha Salminen and Matti Seistola in second and third, respectively.

In the Enduro 2 class it was another victory for the hard charging Alex Salvini after engaging in a close battle with France’s Pela Renet who finished up in second place with Johnny Aubert rounding out the top three.

France’s Christophe Nambotin again proved to be the rider to beat in the Enduro 3 category, winning 11 of the day’s 14 special tests, the defending champion convincingly topped his class. Behind Nambotin it was Aigar Leok in second place with Luis Correia follwing him in third.

In the Enduro Junior category it was Australia’s Matthew Phillips who earned himself his first-ever EWC victory on day one. The Husqvarna rider finished six seconds ahead of his closest competitor Danny McCanney while Giacomo Redondi rounded out the top three.

During the second day of competition it was Meo once again who scored the win in the Enduro 1 class. MEO and Finland’s Salminen battled throughout the day, but it was Meo’s impressive time in the final enduro test that delivered him the victory.

Salvini has now cemented himself as one of the main championship contenders for this year’s Enduro 2 class title. Proving incredibly fast and consistent during day two in Argentina, the Honda rider won eight of the day’s 13 special tests to secure his second victory of the weekend.

Behind Salvini is was Spain’s Ivan Cervantes who bounced back to place as runner-up on day two. Unable to completely close the gap to Salvini, Cervantes finished just eight seconds behind the Honda rider with Renet behind him in third.

In the Enduro 3 category it was Leok that claimed the day two win after capitalising Nambotin’s misfortune on the final lap. Sweden’s Joakim Ljunggren took the runner-up position ahead of Italy’s Manuel Monni.

A new Enduro Junior winner emerged on day two, with Rudi Moroni earning the win ahead of day one winner Phillips and Danny McCanney in second and third, respectively.
