With stacked fields consisting of riders such as Monea, Milesevic, Kade Mosig, Sam Martin and Dylan Long, the fans were treated to some great racing on the well-prepared and fast track.
This year’s competition saw the introduction of a number of new classes, race formats and competition give-aways. The much-hyped Pro Open and Lites classes definitely didn’t disappoint the large crowd of fans that lined the fence on both days.
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Adam Monea took out the premier Pro Open class after taking one victory followed by a solid second place finish on Saturday.
Monea, using the race to prepare for the upcoming Monster Energy MX Nationals, took the win ahead of defending 2012 Victorian A Grade Open champion Sam Martin, with Lewis Woods finishing in third overall.
Ballarat rider Joel Milesevic battled with Zero Seven Motorsports’ Kade Mosig in the Pro Lites class on Sunday. Mosig won the first race just ahead of Milesevic and Jake Emanuelli taking second and third placings, respectively.
Race two came down to the wire with Milesevic barely edging out Mosig at the line. The fastest lap of the day went to runner-up Mosig as he broke the two-minute barrier while Kale Makeham rounded out the podium with a third place.
The 2013 Victorian Senior Motocross Championships will now head to Swan Hill where round two of the series will take place on 15-16 June.
