Rewind: Ferris' first GP experience

Look back at Dean Ferris' first grand prix campaign back during the 2010 season.

Dean Ferris was a standout performer at last weekend’s opening round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, finishing second overall in the MX2 class behind reigning world champion Jeffrey Herlings.

Ferris was exceptional under lights for his maiden GP podium, marking his second season in the grand prix series, but first on the 250F as part of Steve Dixon’s Monster Energy Yamaha program.

It’s been a lengthy road to success for Ferris, the 22-year-old suffering a frustrating rookie grand prix season in 2012. As part of ICE1 Racing aboard a Kawasaki in MX1, Ferris displayed flashes of brilliance at first, but was soon ruled out with a swing of injuries.

Before that though, Ferris’ first real grand prix experience came in 2010 aboard a Honda, eventually contesting the final rounds aboard a factory Honda (click here for more on that).

As we ‘Rewind’ to the start of 2011 in this ‘Inside Line’ film with Ferris, he reflects on that first grand prix experience from the year prior.

It’s been a long, hard round for Ferris, but judging by his early form of 2013, he’s right on track to make a career of it in Europe.
