KTM Australia general manager Jeff Leisk has spoken out about the brand’s decision to take its entire domestic racing programs in-house for 2013, including the all-new motocross and returning off-road teams.

Both teams will feature a vivid new look, including the use of KTM’s brand new 2013 Power Wear range.

New faces, new bikes and new gear make a very appropriate first impression as season 2013 marks a new chapter in the history of KTM Australia’s motocross racing arm, and for the first time in three years the team will move back in-house.

Motorex KTM has signed Todd Waters and Kirk Gibbs for their 2013 team.

“The new in-house strategy was a logical step with KTM increasing its range of products in terms of Power Wear technical and casual gear and Power Parts components,” Leisk said.

“These are first rate products, top quality stuff, so it was natural for us to want our premier teams using them. We’ll see a lot more dealers committing to it and stocking it this year and that can only be good for our customers.”

While the faces might be the same for the off-road team of Toby Price, Chris Hollis, Ben Burrell and Ben Grabham, the bikes, the riding gear and the parts are all brand new, and a perfect illustration of KTM Australia’s in-house strategy.

“Enduro is one of our most important and traditional markets and we’re very proud of the capability of our range,” Leisk added.

“The KTM500EXC Toby will ride is one of our top sellers and he has proven it across a wide variety of conditions from tight and twisty enduro to wide open cross country racing and dirt track and it’s great for our customers to be able to see what our bikes are capable of through the exploits of our team.”
