Full Force CarsRus race team has announced the return of Dean Porter and the addition of Keiron Hall to the team for 2013 season.
Full Force CarsRus race team has announced the return of Dean Porter and the addition of Keiron Hall to the team for 2013 season.
Porter was the second highest placed privateer in the MX1 class of the MX Nationas last year and finished off at the Coolum round with a fifth place, also taking the title in the 2-Stroke Cup.
“It feels really good to be part of the team again,” Porter said. “Last year was a really successful year for me and this year is going to be bigger and better.
“Being in WA its so hard to travel to all of the rounds, with the team based in QLD and supplying me bikes and taking them to every round, it makes it a lot easier. All I have to do is get on the plane.”
Porter’s 2012 season got better after every round and the known sand rider showed that he isn’t to be overlooked on the hard pack tracks.
“I felt like I was improving at every round last year and I have had the best off season ever this year with no injuries,” he added. “Last year was a really successful year for me and the team.
“The atmosphere at the team is really good, laid back, everyone is there to have fun, obviously we all want results but If I have a bad ride it’s not really an issue.
“We all stay at the track in the truck which is a good laugh, wake up and cook a nice breakfast and it sets me up for a good day.
“This will be the first year I have ridden the nationals that I don’t have to supply nearly everything, the team is really stepping it up this year and the support is awesome.”
Despite one of the toughest Australia Motocross MX1 divisions in recent time, Porter has shown he belongs towards the pointy end.
“I expect to be where I finished off last year, there are a lot of fast guys again this year but I’m doing everything possible to be up the front,” Porter continued.
“My riding has been going really good, I’ve switched over to a Honda and i feel really good on it. I am only riding sand over here at the moment, but I can’t wait to get to America on Thursday and test the Hondas out on the hard pack”.
“While I have all the sand in the world over in WA it will be good to get my hard pack up to speed for the season and that’s what I aim to do.”
Flying the flag for the CarsRus.com.au backed team in the MX2 class will be Hall.
Hall joined the team for the last three rounds of MXN and supercross, but will be a permanent fixture for the 2013 season.
“It feels awesome to have everything sorted, its a massive relief to have some support instead of trying to do it off my own back,” Hall commented.
“I can focus on my racing and do everything that I have to do, to be up the top where I know I can be. The team is awesome, there a great bunch of guys and everyone gets along well.
“If you say you need something they always do their best to do it for you and get everything organised, that gives me a lot more time to concentrate on my training.
“I can just show up and get on my bike and I’m all ready to go racing. I don’t have to worry about maintenance and all that, it will be a big weight off my shoulders.”
As far as expectations go for 2013, Hall is confident he belongs at the front.
“I know I can win races, I’ve just got to take every weekend as it comes,” he explained. “I can’t go getting ahead of myself, as long as I concentrate on the positives, I know I will be able to win races.”
Currently in negotiations with a to-be-named international according to team manager Cade Mooney, Full Force will also be supported by Thor, Spy Goggles and Jett Boots during the 2013 season.
