Multiple-time Australian champion Ryan Marmont has confirmed he’s clinched a deal to ride for Raceline Pirelli Suzuki in 2013.
Marmont, 27, has taken delivery of one of the team’s RM-Z250s and will contest the MX2 class of the MX Nationals, along with the SX-Lites class of Australian Supercross.
With minimal seat time aboard to Suzuki already, Marmont told MotoOnline.com.au that it’s so far been a smooth transition from the now defunct JDR/KTM team he rode for in recent seasons.
“So far it’s been a good change for me with the Raceline Pirelli Suzuki team,” Marmont said. “Dealing with the Tisdale family has been great for me, really comfortable and I can’t wait for the season.
“We’ve got some really good sponsors on board this year and I think that we’re going to have a great team. I’m confident we can get great results and put a stamp on the Lites class this year.”
Marmont said his initial impression of the Suzuki has been positive, looking to make steady developments in the lead-up to the outdoors when they commence at Raymond Terrace in April.
“From the first day I hopped on the bike I was comfortable, but I mean the team already had a great bike to start with,” he continued.
“I kind of walked into a good set-up, so I think with a few minor tweaks we can get it working really well for me.”
Supercross standout Geran Stapleton has been linked alongside Marmont at Raceline Pirelli Suzuki for this year.
