Australia’s Dean Ferris will officially join the Monster Energy Yamaha team for the 2013 FIM Motocross World Championships.
After spending the majority of his 2012 season sidelined by injury, Ferris will depart from his ICE 1 Racing Kawasaki MX1 ride to contend in the MX2 class aboard a 250.
The Queensland native is excited to join such an established team and feels that the YZ250F is a very competitive bike.
“Obviously I’m super-excited to be a Monster Energy Yamaha rider and this is the best ride I have had so far with a very good and established team,” he said. “I know the YZ250F is very competitive and I feel like I have a great chance to show what I can do in 2013.
Ferris will be fully recovered from his shoulder injury for the 2013 season, where he will be eager to show his full potential.
“I know a bit about the Dixon-led team having been part of the GP paddock and also with people like Andrew McFarlane having raced and won for them,” he added. “I am fully recovered from the shoulder problem I had earlier this year and I’m raring to go.”
