Motul Pirelli Suzuki’s Matt Moss has confirmed that he will undergo surgery next Wednesday, 24 October, forcing him out of the Terex Australian Supercross Championships.
Upon return home from the US last weekend at Dubbo and on debut for 2012 with Suzuki in the SX-Open class, Moss won his heat race, but was taken out of the main event in its early stages.
Impact with Scotsman Billy Mackenzie saw Moss dislocate his left shoulder in the incident, tearing the ligaments from the bone and ultimately ending his campaign for this year.
“I’m just worried about next year now, so that’s why I want to get the operation done now and it gets me fit and ready for motocross next year,” he told MotoOnline.com.au this afternoon.
“It’s a bummer that it wasn’t my fault this happened, I’m a bit disappointed with that, and I’m bummed that I’m missing supercross. But I’m really looking forward to next year with the new team, can’t wait for that.”
Motul Pirelli Suzuki will now become a two-man team, focusing on the efforts of Todd Waters in SX-Open and Steven Clarke in the SX-Lites division.
