Queenslander Sam Duncanson will make a return to racing this weekend at Dubbo’s opening round of the Terex Australian Supercross Championships after a long break due to injury.
Duncanson will pilot a YZF450 around the supercross track at Dubbo with the Full Force CarsRus Race Team.
His motocross season was cut short due to a nasty crash at Queensland Motocross Park in March, where he sustained a broken pelvis and injured his shoulder, which required a re-construction.
“I was devastated, I was riding the best I ever had and felt really good,” Duncanson said.
“The Injuries are all good now and I can’t wait to race the 450 – I’ve been wanting to ride one for the past three years”.
Duncanson has been training for supercross on several South East Queensland tracks and spent some time on the weekend riding with Ford Dale and Ben Townley.
“It was good to ride with them and see where I am, I’m really happy with how I went,” he added.
Flying the flag in the Pro Lites after joining the team for the last three rounds of the MX Nationals is New South Wales rider Keiron Hall.
Hall has spent some hours, along with his dad Peter, building a massive supercross track on their property at Ben Bullen.
“I built a pretty good supercross track, I’ve been on the bike a lot more then I usually do and I’m feeling pretty good coming into the first round,” Hall explained. “I’m definitely hoping to be on the podium”
Hall will again ride a YZ250 two stroke and hopes to rocket out of the gates.
“I have spent a lot of time on bike set-up and done a lot of riding, so I should be right come race day,” he concluded.
