Two of the biggest names in freestyle motocross (FMX) are confirmed to join the billing for the opening round of the Terex Australian Supercross Championships at Dubbo’s Mount Morris Speedway this weekend.
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Mark Monea and Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Josh Sheehan will line up alongside fellow X Games competitor Cam Sinclair to put on a series of adrenaline-fuelled FMX demonstrations in between the racing action.
The trio have pioneered some of the most difficult tricks in the sport’s history.
X Games bronze medallist Sheehan and X Games gold, silver and bronze medallist Sinclair make up two of just three riders to execute the double backflip in competition.
For Monea, the man known for the ‘Carry On front-flip variation, this weekend’s event will provide him with a platform to showcase his extended FMX repertoire.
“I am really looking forward to being part of the of the Australian Supercross Championships,” Monea said. “I have been doing a lot of practice since Nitro Circus, and have been working on my other freestyle tricks.
“These events will give me a good chance to showcase my FMX skills, I don’t want to be known for just one crazy trick. Australia really is producing the top echelon of the sport now so it is great for our regional fans to have the chance to see us in action.
“We all live and practice in regional centres but don’t often get the chance to perform in these areas.”
