After an impressive debut performance during the 2011 Australian Super X series, Gavin Faith will once again make the trip from the United States to contest the 2012 Australian Supercross Championships.
Faith hit the Australian scene last year with raw speed and high intensity, catching the eyes of many in our industry after earning himself a solid second place overall finish in the Pro Lites class.
After finishing runner-up to Matt moss in 2011, Faith is looking to take it one step further and lock down the 2012 ASX Pro Lites championship.
“I am really excited to be back,” said Faith. “I had a lot of fun here last year and I am looking forward to a good series. I want to ride a lot smarter this year and I definitely want to try and win the championship. First of all I want to get out there and do well in some races.”
Faith spent time in the US riding select AMA Supercross rounds for teams such as GEICO Honda and JGRMX Toyota Yamaha. Even though he did not achieve the results he was looking for, the experience should will prove highly valuable.
“I kinda expected to do better.” Faith added. “But I learnt quite a bit.”
Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing team owner Yarrive Konksy says Faith has a great work ethic and fits in well with the whole team.
“Gavin has tremendous speed and his work ethic and dedication is parallel to our other team riders,” said Konksy. “He fits well in the Honda team and is well liked for his personality and appreciation for what we do. I am glad he is racing for Carlton Dry Honda instead of against us”.
Faith will begin his 2012 ASX championship campaign this weekend at Dubbo’s upcoming season opener on 13 October.
