Following an impressive FIM World Motocross debut, landing herself on the podium in her first try, Meghan Rutledge feels confident in her ability to build from this result.

The 17-year-old took 2-4 moto finishes at the German Grand Prix in Teutschenthal, securing herself third position overall at the season finale.

This result comes after an already stellar year where Rutledge took a moto win in her AMA motocross WMX debut, and competed in the Los Angeles X Games event.

“It was such a good experience to race in the WMX class in Germany,” said Rutlegde. “I felt like I could have won the round too.

“A small run in with a lapped rider cost me the first race and then I crashed in the second and that put me back and its frustrating because I felt like I was worthy of the win in each race, but it’s still awesome to finish my first world WMX round on the podium.

Rutledge is looking ahead to work towards landing herself on that top spot in the future.

“It’s a good feeling to be third in the world,” she added. “I’ll keep working hard and my goal is to be number one some day.”

Rutledge will return home to Australia this week to immediately begin preparations for the upcoming Australian Supercross Championships, where she will compete in the Under 19s class.
