Justin Barcia will carry an upbeat attitude into his Motocross of Nations debut in Belgium where he is set to contend for Team USA as their MX3 entrant.
Barcia, will make the step up to the 450 machine for the event, marking this event a stepping stone to his full-time 2013 premier class position with the Honda Muscle Milk team.
The typically outspoken 20-year-old is lost for words when trying to describe the feeling of being selected to represent his country alongside Ryan Dungey and Blake Baggett.
“Honestly words can’t describe it, it’s that awesome for me,” said Barcia. “Being a member of Team USA is just indescribable, awesome, amazing, just words cannot describe it.
“I’ve never been to Belgium, I’m definitely looking forward to it. We’re going to go over a week early and do some practicing and some testing, check out the town a little bit and have some fun.
“I like the sand it’s really fun, I think my style and a 450 in the sand, it’ll work really good. I just enjoy riding it, it’s fun, Florida is pretty sandy so it’ll be all good.”
Barcia believes the team dynamic should be good with his Team USA teammates that are usually pitted underneath separate tents.
“Having teammates that are not my real teammates, so it’ll be pretty cool,” he added. “I think we’ll put everything in the past, in the past and just have fun.
“I’m sure Ryan [Dungey] will have some good stuff to say, he’s done it a couple of times, Blake [Baggett] has done it once. I think it will be great, we’re going to have, a good time and go there to try to win.
“Definitely a dream come true to ride for Team USA, I never thought in a million years that it would happen. But it’s a great day to be on the team, it’s awesome.”
The Motocross of Nations will be taking place at Lommel in Belgium on 30 September.
