Pirelli’s Scorpion MX Mid Hard 554 tyre saw great success at Moree’s round nine of the Monster Energy MX Nationals over the weekend, scoring the overall MX2 victory with Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Ford Dale.

Dake swept all three MX2 motos on the day, but most importantly took out the first-ever Australian MX Nationals victory on the all-new Scorpion MX Mid Hard 554 compound in the final 30-minute moto of the day.

Behind Dale, Pirelli mounted riders Josh Cachia (JDR Motorsports and Kirk Gibbs (Serco Metal Mulisha Yamaha) wrapped up the top three overall spots on the box.

In the premier MX1 class, Motul Pirelli Suzuki’s Todd Waters qualified fastest in the early soft conditions using the Scorpion MX Mid Soft 32.

Waters went on to finish second overall behind CDR Yamaha’s Josh Coppins, after opting to run the Scorpion MX Mid Hard 554 in 80/100-21 front and 120/80-19 rear in the final 30-minute moto.

Rounding out the MX1 podium for Pirelli was Waters’ Motul Pirelli Suzuki teammate Cody Cooper, opting to use the same setup as his stablemate.

Pirelli mounted Waters is set to make a charge for the MX1 title at the final round this weekend at Coolum in Queensland. Dale holds down the MX2 lead, while fellow Pirelli mounted Luke Styke will be battling back to take home the title.
