A future in the premier MX1 class looks to be certain for current Monster Energy MX Nationals MX2 series leader Ford Dale, as he revealed in an interview this week with MotoOnline.com.au.

The Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing pilot has shown maturity and growth in his riding throughout the 2012 season, a helping hand from teammate Ben Townley proving influential in his development.

Dale believes he rides the 450 a lot better and that his style suits the bigger bike, and the Queensland native says he will now follow his dreams into 2013.

“I definitely want to go onto a 450 and it’s been a plan of mine for years to ride the 450,” Dale told MotoOnline.com.au. “I feel that I ride it a lot better and it suits my style a lot better.”

Dale would prefer to stay with his current team at Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing, but says that he will move somewhere else if need be to lock in an MX1 deal.

“I would really love to stay on a Honda,” Dale added. “But whether it’s with Honda or somebody else, I definitely will be riding a 450.”

Dale currently leads the MX2 championship standings into Coolum’s final round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals series. Click here for the full interview.
