Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Brad Anderson will be aiming to take home a third place overall MX1 position, as the final round of the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals in Coolum looms near.

CDR Yamaha newcomer Lawson Bopping currently holds down the final podium spot in the premier class title chase, and the former British champion is hungry to steal it away.

With a small margin of just six points separating the two riders, the final result could go either way quite easily with the three moto format and generous amount of points on offer.

Anderson was able to close the points gap on Bopping at Moree’s round nine, he now plans to maintain that momentum for the season finale.

“It wasn’t the best of days,” Anderson admitted. “I finished the first two races fourth and clawed back some points on Lawson. In the last race I got a really bad start and was near last, I pushed hard and came through to finish sixth.

“My goal now is to finish the championship third. I am going to have to try my hardest at Coolum to make up the six point deficit to Lawson.”

Coolum’s round 10 season finale will be underway this weekend on 25-26 August in Queensland. Stay tuned to MotoOnline.com.au for updates throughout the event.
