JDR/KTM Factory Racing rider Josh Cachia claimed his third overall podium in a row at Moree last weekend, but admits that not winning is frustrating for him at this point of the season.

In his second season of MX2 competition, Cachia finished runner-up for the second round in succession when the Monster Energy MX Nationals hosted its penultimate event of the season on Sunday.

Cachia continued his spectacular late-season surge on the 250 SX-F, finishing second overall and keeping himself in championship contention ahead of Coolum’s season finale this weekend.

Motos one and two saw Cachia claim second positions, before a third in the final moto secured him his place on the podium. The result now sees Cachia 28 points out of the series lead with one round remaining.

“It was a big day, because I made the two 15-minute motos hard for myself with bad starts,” Cachia commented. “It was good though because I ended up passing people and finished with two seconds.

“I feel like I had a bad day since I finished second, but it’s still a good result at the end of the day.”

Earlier this season, Cachia has taken victories overall at both Murray Bridge and Horsham, setting himself up as a true title threat for 2013.
