In front of 25,000 screaming fans the two-time Madrid winner and local freestyle motocross hero Dany Torres will attempt to make it a hat-trick in 2012.
“Madrid is the best event for me, it’s the best country, and the best location in the bullring,” said Torres. “The crowd is crazy in Madrid. It’s great to see the crowd there. It’s my crowd.”
Todd Potter currently leads the 2012 series points heading into Spain, after winning the Glen Helen round in California the American rider is looking forward to experiencing the Madrid crown for the first time.
“I’m looking forward to Madrid,” said Potter. “Hopefully I’ll have some more tricks in my back to come out and win it.”
Behind Potter it is New Zealand’s Levi Sherwood who holds down second spot overall after two rounds of action, while Javier Villegas of Chile rounds out the top three.
Australian contenders Rob Adelberg and Josh Sheehan sit in fourth and eighth respectively as the series hits the Unique Spanish venue. Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams will also join in on the action this weekend to take his shot at the win.
The 2012 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour will head around the world before finishing up at Sydney’s Cockatoo Island for the season finale on 6 October.
