Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett will make his professional debut on a 450cc motorcycle at this year’s second annual Monster Energy Cup.
The current Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship 250 class leader will take his shot at the ‘Monster Million’ in Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium come October.
With both the 250 and 450cc machines eligible to compete together, the choice of riding the big-bore bike will work to Baggett’s advantage with great starts being key to success at the unique event.
“A million dollars up for grabs – that is probably the coolest thing I have ever heard of, and to be a part of that would be a cool thing,” said Baggett. “I don’t have much time on a 450cc, but when the time comes, we’ll put a little bit of time into it.”
The stage is set for 20 October 2012 when Baggett and the rest of the field will head out on the Ricky Carmichael inspired track to battle for the largest prize purse in the history of the sport.
