MotoOnline.com.au has the ultimate guide to Horsham's seventh round of the MXN series.
The Monster Energy MX Nationals will enter Horsham in Victoria this Sunday for the seventh round of the 2012 title chase.
In the premier MX1 category it is New Zealand veteran Josh Coppins (CDR Yamaha) who leads the way, coming under increasing pressure from Australian rising stars Todd Waters (Motul Pirelli Suzuki) and Lawson Bopping (CDR Yamaha) – who have picked up wins in the past two rounds.
Waters is second in the series, with Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Brad Anderson tied with Bopping for third. This weekend will also see the racing return of Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jay Marmont, who sat out round six due to surgery complications suffered during the mid-season break.
The Motul MX2 class is so far led by standout Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha Racing team rider Luke Styke, who has dominated with 50 percent of the round wins to date. Behind him sits Ford Dale (Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing) and privateer Cheyne Boyd (DPH Motorsport Honda).
A new leader arose in the Pirelli MXD class at Hervey Bay, with Kiwi Kayne Lamont leading the way thanks to three straight round wins. Behind him is fellow KTM rider Dylan Long, while GYTR Yamaha’s Sam Martin is third.
This weekend’s Horsham round marks the series’ first visit to the venue since the opening round of 2010.
MotoOnline.com.au will compile an official pre-race Fan Guide ahead of every round in 2012.
