Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Kade Mosig is looking to put in a strong second half of the Monster Energy MX Nationals series, after failing to meet his high expectations set for himself in the first five rounds of the year.

Sitting fifth in the MX2 Class standings after five of 10 rounds, Mosig’s best finish to date is a third overall at round two in Coonabarabran. Unable to match or beat his best finish since then, the Victoria native is eager to set a new tone come round six.

“I’m not overly happy with where I am sitting, because I had pretty high expectations on myself this year and the team did as well,” Mosig wrote for MotoOnline. “I definitely think the second half will be strong for me, I’ve been working hard and I feel like I’ve taken it to another level.

The mid-season break can be seen as a godsend to some and a hindrance to others, Mosig took it as the perfect chance to regroup.

“I feel like I’ve worked some things out that I had to and I’m kind of glad that we had a five-week break,” he added. “That gave me a chance to regroup and get a few things in place for the second half of the season that I wanted to.”

Watch for Mosig to come out swinging when the Monster Energy MX Nationals series returns on 1 July at Hervey Bay in Queensland.
