Queenslander Brenden Harrison isn’t yet putting pressure on himself as he prepares to make his return in the Monster Energy MX Nationals at Hervey Bay on 1 July.

JDR/KTM Factory Racing rider Harrison has sat out the first half of the season as he recovers from pre-season surgery, now committed to return at round six.

Following a promising performance in the Queensland state titles last weekend, Harrison says he’s feeling stronger as the weeks go by.

“Strength I think is back to around 85-90 percent,” Harrison told MotoOnline. “I still feel that I have a little bit more left in the tank, but there is nothing better than race practice.

“You can practice all you want, but you’re never race fit, so I’m really looking forward to getting back into it.”

With Hervey Bay just around the corner, the 22-year-old is simply aiming to enjoy racing in his comeback. If he can do that, he believes the results will come.

“I’m just looking for some good starts and to keep it fun,” he explained. “I’m sure if I have fun and ride like I know I can, I should be up where I want to be.”
