Current Monster Energy MX Nationals MXD Class leader Dylan Long is not concerned by the host of riders choosing to compete on 250 two-strokes in the hotly contested class.

The Victorian has been consistent throughout the series against the powerful two-strokes on his Choice Motorsports KTM 250 SX-F, holding the red plate since the opening round at Conondale in Queensland.

“I don’t really like to race with them that much, but I do think the guys are doing a really good job on them,” Long said. “I’d like to see everyone on 250Fs, but yeah, they are riding really well.”

Long believes that the current competition is a great thing for the sport, no matter what bike the riders are on in MXD.

“Even if there is an advantage, disadvantage or whatever, it’s making us ride a lot faster,” he added. “That makes the sport better when we’re racing fast and battling together.”

Long currently holds a nine-point lead over second place rider Kayne Lamont following four of nine MXD rounds in 2012.
