JDR/KTM Factory Racing’s Dan Reardon gained a boost of confidence over the weekend at Murray Bridge’s round five of Monster Energy MX Nationals racing, leaving with a season-best seventh place overall in the MX1 class.
The former national champion and lone MX1 rider for the JDR/KTM squad has had a slow start to the 2012 series, unable to obtain the results that he and many others expect of him.
Taking 9-8-6 moto finishes, despite two falls in moto one, Reardon admits he is not happy with these results, but will work hard to build on this result in the remaining rounds.
“The day was better for me, we definitely made some improvements and I feel a little bit more comfortable,” Reardon said.
“We’re still not 100 percent, but we’ve got a big break coming up now, so hopefully we’ll come out even stronger in the last half of the season.
“I don’t like sitting back there, but at the moment that’s where I’m at and I’ll take positives from this result.”
Reardon currently holds down 10th position overall in the MX1 class as the series heads into a five-week break, before returning at Hervey Bay in Queensland for round six on 1 July.
