Monster Energy Yamaha’s Steven Frossard will attempt to make a comeback to the GP circuit this weekend in Italy following successful knee surgery last week.
The Frenchman caught his knee on the ground in a qualifying heat at the GP of Bulgaria, this tweak of the knee triggered pain and lack of movement, resulting in the procedure being a must.
A ‘tidy up’ of the knee was required and the removal of a damaged anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), took place.
Frossard will head to Fermo this weekend for the Grand Prix of Italy, round three of 16 in the FIM Motocross World Championship.
With the damaged ACL removed, the 2011 MX1 championship runner-up will be hoping to postpone a complete knee reconstruction of the joint until the end of the 2012 season.
