Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha Racing may be celebrating its second MX2 win of the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals season, however team owner Gavin Eales is reminding riders Luke Styke and Kirk Gibbs to remain focused on the season remainder.

Styke swept all three motos at the Coonabarabran round over the weekend to take the red plate from round one winner Gibbs, setting up an all-Serco battle for the title in the early stages.

Eales explained that he is pleased with his riders and their results, but they will need to keep their sights set on the big picture in a long 10-round season.

“It was a fantastic result and both riders did an awesome job and should be proud of themselves,” said Eales.

“But we also remind them that there are still eight rounds to go and each round requires the same focus and determination as today for us to be in contention for this championship by round 10.”

Styke now leads the MX2 championship standings over teammate Gibbs by 13 points, while Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Ford Dale rounds out the top three.
