As the Yamaha AORC enters Wonthaggi this weekend, Ballards Off-Road Yamaha's Matt Phillips is aiming for his first podium on the 2012 WR450F.
As the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championships enter rounds three and four in Wonthaggi, VIC, this weekend, Ballards Off-Road Yamaha’s Matt Phillips is aiming for his first podium on the 2012 WR450F.
Wonthaggi will mark the second weekend of racing on the all-new WR450F and Phillips says he has been refining his bike set up and it should come around just in time for this weekend’s racing.
“A top three result’s looking really promising; I think I can get top three Outright, I’ve been refining my set up of the new WR450F and should have it dialed for this weekend,” said Phillips.
“The tracks at Wonthaggi are going to be rough and the pace is going to be fast.
“The competition is tough this year, tougher than last year for sure. Everyone is healthy and doing their thing, but I’m feeling confident.”
Phillips currently sits fifth overall Outright and holds the lead over Glenn Kearney and Chris Hollis in the E2 class standings.
