TwoTwo Motorsports team owner/rider Chad Reed says he won’t come back until he’s 100 percent certain that he can compete at the front of the field.

In his latest online YouTube film, My Way, Reed explains that he will return when he is back to his best, not planning on rushing his recovery process at this point.

“If you see me during the nationals or at all in 2012, it’ll be because I’m back at my best and I feel that I can race and get after it,” Reed said.

Reed is certain to miss the opening rounds of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, which commences in May, but isn’t ruling out a return later in the season.

“I just want to be good when I come back,” he continued. “Whether it’s five races, six races, no races, or Anaheim 1, we’ll just see. I’ve never had any knee issues, I want to come back and do it right.”

The former AMA Supercross and Motocross champion was forced out of this year’s supercross season with a long list of injuries including a torn ACL after crashing in Dallas.

Today, 15 March, in Australia is Reed’s 30th birthday. Happy birthday to the TwoTwo from all of us here at MotoOnline.com.au.
