Motorex KTM Off Road Racing’s Toby Price says consitency will be key for a strong championship campaign, after his title defence last year was greatly hampered by inconsistency and late season injuries.

The former two-time champion currently leads the Australian Off-Road Championship Outright on his brand new KTM 500 EXC, after the opening weekend of racing at Dungog last weekend.

Price made the switch to the E3 class on the 500cc bike for 2012, after riding the 350cc bike last year in the E2 class.

“It’s started off great this year and the KTM 500 EXC was working really well for me,” Price said.

“Saturday went to plan before Sunday was a little bit up and down, but consistent results will be important this year and I managed that.

“I need to make sure I’m on the podium all the time and look at the big picture, which is the championship.”

The series will now head to Wonthaggi in Victoria on 31 March-1 April for rounds three and four of the 2012 AORC season.
