TwoTwo Motorsports Honda team owner/rider Chad Reed will undergo surgery in California on Thursday.
Following his mammoth crash in Dallas a fortnight ago that forced him out of he 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season, Reed will commence his rehabilitation post-surgery.
Initial scans revealed last week that the Australian has torn his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), broken his tibia and fibula, sustained two broken ribs and has a broken T6 vertebrae.
Reed’s surgery will be performed on the injured ACL, with doctors waiting for swelling to subside before scheduling for Thursday. He confirmed the news on Twitter this week.
It’s believed that Reed is eying a return during the outdoor AMA Pro Motocross Championship, however an official comeback date is yet to be confirmed.
