CDR Rockstar Energy Drink Yamaha’s Craig Dack never doubted that the team could win the Monster Energy Super X title with Jay Marmont, despite a disastrous opening round.

Marmont struggled in the mud after crashing early in Melbourne’s season opener, netting an eighth place result in a frustrating start to the season.

From there he clawed his way back into contention, finally taking over the series lead after round four and was never headed.

Dack says he was confident all along that Marmont could fight back along with the entire CDR team.

“With the opening round results not being so flash, I knew we had it all in front of us but I never doubted that we couldn’t do it,” Dack said.

“I had complete faith in the staff at CDR to build the best bike and Jay’s determination and fight is unquestioned, so it was a very satisfying victory for all of us.”

Reflecting on a dream year in 2011, Dack thanks everybody involved for the hard work put forward during the season.

“This now completes our race commitments for the year and I would like to take this time to thank everyone at Yamaha, our team sponsors and staff for an amazing year,” he continued.

“This is our first national supercross championship since 2005 and to come on the back of a 1-2 finish in the MX Nationals is a fantastic result.”

CDR has re-signed Josh Coppins for 2012, however the future of Marmont remains up in the air as of posting time.
