Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Todd Waters admits that this weekend’s final round of Monster Energy Super X is vital when it comes to carrying confidence into the off-season.
Waters will switch to Motul Pirelli Suzuki in 2012 and is determined to finish his association with Honda on a good note tomorrow night in Ipswich, Queensland.
The 20-year-old is aiming to break through for his first Super X podium of the year after he was relegated to fourth on a countback last weekend when he tied for third on points.
“It has been a hard Supercross series for me,” Waters admitted. “I feel I am finally starting to get some momentum and now the season is over.
“I came so close to a podium last weekend but bad luck in the last race cost me on a countback.
“I am really looking forward to racing a traditional 20-lap final this weekend, it gives you the chance to fight your way back through if you get a bad start or come off.
“It is important to end the year on a positive note as it sets you up for the start of the next season. I am feeling good, I am coming off a week of productive training,” he added.
Waters currently sits sixth in the Pro Open standings after four of five rounds.
