CDR Rockstar Energy Drink Yamaha team manager Craig Dack has spoken of the challenges that teams face during the rain affected rounds of Monster Energy Super X.

Both the opening rounds of season 2011 have been lashed by rain, making for a difficult night for riders, before teams are charged with the tough task of preparing equipment to compete again just seven days later.

With five rounds back-to-back making up this year’s Super X title chase, Dack admitted it is a challenge, but added that teams need to be prepared for all conditions on any given weekend.

“The rain and mud as made racing tough in the first two rounds of Super X, but you have to expect all conditions and be prepared for them,” he said.

“It would be nice to get a dry event to create a better spectacle for the fans and also take some pressure of the mechanics to prepare for each round, but unfortunately you can’t control the weather.”

CDR Rockstar Yamaha team leader Jay Marmont broke through for his first podium of the year in the Pro Open main event in Wollongong, while Jake Moss rode to 10th in tough conditions.

“Both the guys put in a good effort and the team again worked hard to deal with the rain,” Dack added.

“Our focus now shifts to next weekend where we need to keep climbing up the championship table and put our best foot forward in the remaining three rounds.”
