Mike Alessi and Alessi Racing have joined forces with team Motoconcepts for the 2012 AMA Supercross and Motocross seasons.

Alessi will be competing on a Suzuki RM-Z450, the team also featuring Mike’s brother Jeff on bikes that are built from readily available products.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me,” Alessi said. “Mike Genova and Motoconcepts are providing me with the infrastructure to build and manage my own race program.”

The team is set to debut at Anaheim 1 on 7 January 2012, marking a brand new approach when it comes to rider and team relationships in motocross.

Alessi recently debuted a privateer Suzuki earlier this month at the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas.
