James Stewart has confirmed that he will sit out this weekend’s Monster Energy Cup at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium.
Still yet to confirm his position for 2012, James Stewart Entertainment sent us the following press release to confirm that he won’t be vying for the $1-million on Saturday night:
It’s really unfortunate to have to announce this news, but due to the logistics surrounding our 2012 team building efforts, our rider, James Stewart, will not be able to compete in the upcoming Monster Energy Cup.
This decision was obviously a hard one, but it was made after going over the various factors associated with keeping our program as a top-level team in the AMA Supercross/Motocross racing categories.
“I had a real tough decision to make,” said James. “I want to race as bad as anyone, but in the best interests of my team and the 2012 season, I have to make decisions that not everyone will like or understand. All I can do is stay true and be honest with you all and ask for your patience and understanding. As soon as there is news about my 2012 plans, you’ll know!”
We all would have loved to be out there competing at this event; but the consistent focus of our camp this off-season has been centered on the preparation for the 2012 racing season. And so this choice had to be made. Apologies to all the fans and sponsors, but at the same time, we have to thank you all for your continued enthusiasm and support.
