CDR Rockstar Energy Yamaha team manager Craig Dack is adamant that the team needs to remain focused if they are to secure the Pro Open title in the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals this Sunday at Coolum in Queensland.

Following last weekend’s penultimate round at Moree, Kiwi Josh Coppins leads the series with a 40-point buffer over Yamaha’s nearest challenger Dean Ferris in third, while Marmont sits second just 18 points behind his teammate.

Dack praised the work of his entire team for their weekend’s efforts at Moree, but is acutely aware that more has to be done in order to secure the 2011 championship.

“What a fantastic day for the team but certainly eventful all round,” Dack enthuses. “We were fortunate enough to put together four good motos at a really crucial time in the championship as some of the other riders had some issues.

“It’s unfortunate that Dean Ferris was injured in race three and the entire team hopes he is ok as both Josh and Jay have commented they enjoy racing with him.

“We also recognise that there is no time to get ahead of ourselves either. We still have four motos, four starts, four first turns and 40 racing laps left.

“The job isn’t done and again we will prepare as we have for every race and continue on the same path that has bought us to the point.

“Anything can happen in motorsport so the team and riders will take up the fight at Coolum next week with the same attitude, same determination and same goal.”

If the team can manage to secure the title it will mark Dack’s fourth in succession – the first three won by Marmont in succession since 2008.
