New South Wales-based MX Nationals privateer Luke Styke is certain that his switch to factory status with the Serco Yoshimura Yamaha team will boost his hopes of success at the final two rounds of the 2011 series.
Styke steps into the Serco Yoshimura Yamaha team after regular rider Jake Moss was ruled out last week with a shoulder injury sustained at Wodonga.
Currently 10th place in the Pro Lites title chase, Styke has spent some valuable time testing his new Serco ride this week and is impressed with what he has beneath him.
“Jumping onto a factory bike and on a team as professional as Serco is a massive step,” Styke commented. “I instantly felt comfortable on the bike and it is far in advance of my race bike in terms of suspension and motor performance.
“I have the equipment now to get the results, so it’s up to me to make that happen.”
Styke has taken two race podiums so far this season, finishing third in a moto each at both Broadford and Murray Bridge.
