MotoConcepts Racing has confirmed that they’ve terminated Frenchman Christophe Pourcel’s contract for this year’s Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
According to a statement from the team, the decision was made based on Pourcel not meeting the contractual demands and obligations to the team and the many sponsors who supported him.
“It’s a real bummer for everybody involved, our team, mechanics, DV, myself and all of our very supportive sponsors, to include FMF, FMF Energy Drink, Yamaha, GYTR, Oneal, MotoConcepts, Enzo and many others who worked hard to make this deal happen,” said team owner Mike Genova.
“Unfortunately Christophe was not able to get where he needed to be to feel confident and competitive, and for whatever reason, he was not willing to put in the necessary homework and effort to get there.
“It’s too bad, because all of us at MotoConcepts and our supportive sponsors wanted it to work, and I am very sorry and apologetic that it didn’t.”
The team is now committed to continue its support of Tommy Hahn, Kyle Chisholm and Mariana Balbi for the remainder of the series.
