South African Tyla Rattray believes his fitness is what took him to the top of the 250 Class during yesterday’s second round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Freestone in Texas.
Rattray scored his second podium in a row, winning the overall with 2-1 result on a difficult day contested in searing heat on Saturday.
“The track was really rough and it was also hot and windy,” said Rattray. “I feel like my conditioning pushed me to the front. I’ve been working hard.
“This is the best I’ve ever felt, and the most physically fit I’ve been in my entire racing career. The weather didn’t make it easy on any of us. I’m looking forward to a weekend off and getting ready for the next round.”
The win marked Rattray’s third of his career overall, now sitting second in the standings and just five points off teammate Dean Wilson.
