Waters will make his return from injury at Coonabarabran next month.

Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Todd Waters is looking forward to his first race of the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals when the series moves to round six at Coonabarabran next month.

After dislocating his wrist and breaking his scaphoid during pre-season traing in February, Waters has admitted that it has been a tough road to recovery.

“Its been thirteen weeks since i’ve been able to get back on the bike, its one of those injuries thats really tough,” commented Waters.

“Kirk Gibbs has done the same thing, just trying to get movement back in it, and also get strength back in it to use the clutch has been really difficult.”

Despite the set backs and obviously being out of the title race, Waters is looking forward to getting in the mix for the second half of the series in the Pro Open class, where he will join temporary-come-permanent team mate Michael Phillips.

“On the other hand everythings going really well, I’m back riding and got a great team behind me to support me,” Waters said.

“Carlton Dry Honda has been fantastic, and yeah we’ll be back for next round at Coonabarabran.”

Round six of the MX Nationals will take place at Coonabarabran’s Goanna Tracks complex on June 19.
