After taking the overall win at round five of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals in muddy Toowoomba conditions, Rockstar Motul Suzuki’s Daniel McCoy feels that the Pro Lites championship is still not out of reach.
At a race where the conditions threw a curveball at many championship hopefuls, McCoy came away feeling positive after getting the boost he needed to get back in the title hunt.
“It was a muddy day but a good day for me,” said McCoy after the race.
“It was a good weekend, I got a win for the team and for myself, and got the monkey off my back now so I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.”
Despite still sitting 52 points in tow of current series leader, JDR Motorex KTMs’s Matt Moss, McCoy knows that there are still four rounds of racing to go and plenty more oppurtunities to make up points like he did in Toowoomba.
“There’s 425 points available still, I made a massive amount of points today on second and first and am in third now”, he stated.
McCoy will look to capitalise on his momentum going into round six of the series at Coonabarabran on July 19.
