Round five of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals spelt a frustrating day for GYTR Rockstar Yamaha’s Luke Arbon.

Arbon left Echo Valley with a seventh place overall in the Under 19s category, finishing eighth, sixteenth and second respectively in the three motos.

The results however don’t reflect his speed on the day. Arbon charged to the front of the field in the first two races, only to fall in the sloppy conditions both times.

“It was just one of those days,” said a frustrated Arbon.

“I got myself to the front of the field, did all the hard work to pass riders quickly in the mud then threw it away myself.”

Currently sitting second after five of the nine championship rounds, Arbon realises that he needs to step it up from here on out if he wants to stay in the title hunt.

“We are half way in the championship now and it’s time to make things happen if I want to win this thing,” stated Arbon.

The next two months I’m going to work harder, train harder and ride harder to make sure I do everything I can to fight for this championship.”

Arbon trails Under 19s series leader, Raceline Pirelli Suzuki’s Errol Willis, by 5 points heading into round six of the series.
