MotoOnline.com.au’s back in the United States, and this time it’s for the outdoor nationals!
It seems like just yesterday I was climbing the rain-soaked hills at Toowoomba’s Echo Valley Raceway while taking photos of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals, but now, here we are in Southern California – the pulse of motocross in the U.S and for much of the world.
The reason it seems like just yesterday that I was covering Aussie motocross in its first visit to Queensland for the year was because I basically was, travelling straight from there home just in time to board QF11 bound for LAX and then spending the good part of a full day in the sky.
MotoOnline.com.au was only just in America a few of months ago during the first few rounds of this year’s incredible AMA Supercross season, that content still ranking as some of the most popular we’ve ever had on the site.
Now, we’re set to cast an outdoor light on our AMA coverage, looking to catch up with the Aussie contingent and even attending this Saturday’s Freestone round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship in Wortham, Texas.
The outdoors over here are known as the most gruelling in motocross, where searing heat is accompanied by unrelenting rivalries on technical tracks and featuring the best riders in the world.
We’ve even managed to get an exclusive insight into the Joe Gibbs Racing team while we’re at Freestone thanks to Pirelli, an opportunity that will allow us to explore some tech tips in tyre technology and advancements while we’re at it.
Expect much the same as last time we were on tour in the States, plus more, and this time I’ll be sure to blog a little bit more behind the scenes to show you, the readers, exactly how we go about business to bring some of the best behind the scenes Aussie stories in the game.
For now though, it’s time to go and soak up some of that famous Californian lifestyle and see what we can arrange in the days to come both before and after Freestone – check back for regular updates on our progress as it happens!
