TwoTwo Motorsports team owner/rider Chad Reed will launch a book over the Father’s Day weekend in Australia this September, a reflection on his life and career to date.
Reed spoke about the book in an interview with RPM on ONE HD on Tuesday evening, excited to share his life story with Australian fans as one of the nation’s sporting greats (update: plans to release the book in the U.S. have also been confirmed).
“I’ve been working on the book for pretty much the lats year and it’s actually been fun,” Reed explained via Skype on RPM. “To go through every step of your life and career, everything that you’ve kind of done, has been quite an amazing thing to go back through.
“At different times different memories come back and it’s kind of mind boggling to see where you’ve been and what you’ve seen over the years.”
Reed also reflected on a trip to Indonesia for racing before he was even a teenager back in the early 1990s.
“For me I’ve been travelling the world, I was flying to Indonesia at 11 years old, so to have a son that’s one year old, it’s quite scary and crazy that my mum and dad were actually allowed me to leave the country at 11 to go race – I don’t know if I’d be that willing!” he added.
“I’m excited for it, it’s the Father’s Day weekend that they are releasing the book and after this weekend I have some finishing touches to do to it and then we’ll wrap that up. I’m excited, as I said, to see the outcome of that.”
Stay tuned for further information yet to be released.
