Stewart: What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger

San Manuel Yamaha’s James Stewart has promised to come back stronger than ever following a disastrous Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, campaign in 2011.

Stewart finished fourth overall in the series after suffering yet another DNF in Las Vegas’ season finale last weekend, however his five victories during the 17 race season prove he did have the pace to contend on any given weekend.

In the Vegas finals Stewart crashed out of third position, a cruel end to what has been a tough season by his standards – including a controversial arrest for impersonating a police officer mid-season.

“We didn’t end the season like we thought we would” Stewart reflected. “I got a good start but struggled through the whoops – I dropped the front end. I have been crashing a lot in the whoops lately and I’m not really sure what is going on.

“We will keep trying to get better. We have some other things going on now that I am excited about. It’s a bummer year but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I appreciate all the support I’ve had this year and we’ll step it up.”

The Floridian will now make a late decision on whether to enter the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, which commence at Hangtown in Northern California next weekend.
